THE NORTH AMERICAN REFORMED SEMINARY

We are an unaccredited institution that is exempt^* from state regulation because of the religious nature of our programs. We do not plan to ever seek accreditation. Instead of seeking the approval from outside organizations we believe in the biblical principle of "by their fruits you shall know them."

We are a Reformed Christian seminary that seeks to educate the body of Christ completely free of charge. Our ministry will enable Christians to get a seminary level education without going into debt (Rom 13:8). This allows our graduates to focus on God's call in their lives instead of how they can best pay off their seminary debt. Not only will this help our students by keeping them out of debt, it will also help small churches retain educated pastors without having to pay a large salary to offset their seminary education debt.

Our mission is to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ and strengthen His Church through seminary level Reformed education. We seek to bring glory to God and expand His kingdom by training up Christians to minister in His name.

We award degrees based on the successful completion of our required curriculum. All of our curriculum is listed out on our website to ensure the transparency of our efforts to the public. You can find our degree programs on our "Academics" page.

We teach through mentoring. Each student is assigned one mentor as a point of contact to the seminary. This mentor helps the student with his studies. We are interested in more than academics, so the mentor is also responsible to ascertain and grow the students application of biblical principles to thier life. This is accomplished one-on-one and through interaction with the student's home church.

TNARS views itself, not as a separate institution, but as an educational resource for the local Reformed church. It has always been the responsibility of the local church to “equip the saints for the work of ministry.” In Eph.4:11-12 Paul says it quite simply, God’s plan for his church is: equipping for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ. We realize that the local church often times does not have the educational or manpower resources for this “equipping.” TNARS desires, not to supplant, but to work alongside the leadership of the local church by providing curriculum and educational support for equipping their people. Our design is to keep local church leadership involved in the training process of the student. While we might be able to provide a high level education, we can not provide the avenues for servant hood that come from being involved in the community of the local church. TNARS contacts the student's church leadership at least every 20 credit hours.

Our Doctrinal stance is Reformed, meaning that we follow in the same doctrinal footsteps of the Reformers during the period of the Reformation. To learn more about our doctrine please visit the "Statement of Faith" page.
